OK I know it's been a few weeks since I've been on here, but I have an idea that is relatively inexpensive and could be a ton of fun. Instead of trying to do a private server, would any of you all be up for doing a long range DnD campaign via something like roll20.net. Have any of you all played DnD or know the basics of a tabletop RPG? If so, any experience DMing? I think it would be cool to pick one night of the week and jump on a TS server or Skype and do a DnD campaign virtually. That's funny timing. I just started playing DnD a few months ago and got hooked. I'm just about to join another online game with some friends from FFXIV.
I don't think I could DM a game, but I'd be down to join another if they don't all conflict.

That's awesome! I used to play a lot in my late teens and early 20's and recently started getting back into the swing of things. 5e makes it way easier to pick up and start than 3.5e ever was. So, I know the learning curve won't be too harsh. I can probably DM, I haven't done it before but I've played enough that it shouldn't be too hard a transition. I would just have to write out a basic story outline to get started. If we have enough players that are down I'd be more than happy to start rolling out a campaign for us to play on might take me a week or two to get prepped between work and side jobs, but I think if we get enough people interested it would be worth it.
