Character created, logged in, etc.. I didn't do anything after creation / login, I'll try to test some more later or tomorrow.

Logged in, ran BLM to lv. 5, average receive is hanging around in the 300's, with spikes up to 1200-1300 when first zoning (as XI always did, IIRC). Every now and then there will be a touch of lag, a half second to a second or so and then it catches up, nothing really all that bad, but, I was running around entirely to myself. I also do not remember a single damn thing about starting XI.

Network should be fast so only thing would be clock cycles. Windows 10 is a hog. The machine is a quad core 7th gen so I have tons of room to spare. I'd like to check out system performance stats while somebody is logged in at some point. Do you have access to GM in game commands? Can check the darkstar wiki for command list. Try the auction house? Put something stupid up and just leave it and let's see if it handles it right.. Edit: clarification

No access to GM commands, which I presume is by design, it looks like you have to either edit the SQL table directly, or run !promote <char> from your character once you've configured your own GM level via the SQL table.
AH tests were as follows: Put item up and underbid = failed, as it should Bid exact amount = succeeded as it should Overbid = succeeded as it should Gil was successfully delivered to the delivery box in the MH
I did not throw an item up to let it sit to see if it's correctly returned yet.

As a side note, if this is how XI really worked that's incredibly interesting that the character stuff was jammed into SQL databases and the GM elevation was literally just a SQL promotion. Explains why they always made the GMs use a separate character for GM functions though.

DM, I made you GM level 1. wiki.dspt.info/index.php/GM_CommandsEdit: I read on the DarkStar forums that some new installs had issues with Meriphataud Mountains. Can you GM zone there and see if it crashes/freezes? Btw, thanks for all your help! Edit 2: Welcome to the world, Oren! I saw you and DM were logged in at the same time. Run into each other?

So, GM commands work just fine so far as I can tell. I GM zoned to Meriphataud and ran around some, no freezing or crashes so that seems fine. Ran into O when I was doing some of the testing for the GM stuff, /tell works fine, I warped over to him and everything was good, I didn't get any notable lag or anything, not sure about O. The available item ID lists (for GM !additem) seem to be a bit out of date, not sure how one would go about getting an updated version of that. Threw an insect wing up on the AH to sit and see if it returns eventually.
-Edit-
O and I have both noticed some of the NPCs are non-responsive, but I honestly can't remember if that's default XI with low fame / quest / mission progression or if it's a known bug thing. I'll try to start a log of which ones it is, O might want to as well.

I'm in and out all weekend, but I'll get the install going when I drop by my apartment later. Hopefully I can have Tal resurrected tomorrow and I can help out with testing. I'm really stoked about this!

Key note if you're on Windows 10: Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows Features On or Off > Legacy Components > Enable Direct Play

OK, so I have all of the set up ready to go. I'm in the process of troubleshooting the actual game, I'm getting FFXI-3113 Error, Protocol Time Out. Everything seems to connect fine on xiloader.

Haha awesome Tal! Did you mean to create your character as Tabain?

Haha awesome Tal! Did you mean to create your character as Tabain? Shit... apparently I was a little higher than I thought last night. >.>This was just a test character anyways. Everything seemed to work just fine, though. I had a few hiccups, one timed out disconnect coming back into Bastok Markets, and I couldn't seem to do any quests. Although this might be my rusty memory. The NPCs are all there, but the Records of Eminence quests don't show up at all in the quest log. I don't remember much of starting the game besides a lot of trial and error back in the day, and can't remember the initial storyline quests. Overall, the feels were there. I'm going to go at it a little more thoroughly tonight when I get home from work. Edit: Just saw the QOL thread. So I think I'll have a better go of it tonight.
