Selk and my mule Dasheeit have both been perma-banned. SE has been cracking down hard on cheaters and botters and getting rid of their NA player base every week that goes by. I don't mind so much. It's time to move on and it was so fun while it lasted and DF grew so much to be such a large and amazing NA shell with the best people you could ask for on Lakshmi. A little sad I will miss out on the new Vagary alliance content and Empyrean 119 armors but I'd be remiss in saying I wasn't atleast a little satisfied at the moment. I beat the game. Or it beat me, same shit.
So. What we playing now? Lol.

I sent this email in response to their banning email:
To whom it may concern (or likely nobody haha),
Well it was a fun run while it lasted. I was a loyal customer since NA launch and you guys have just run this game into the ground with your cheap gimmicks and ploys to keep it going. I can't believe you still left my XIV service active too you greedy bastards (now canceled). I literally buy consoles just to play Final Fantasy games and only those games but I will never do so again. Goodbye Square-Enix you can go blow it out your asshole!
Thank you, - Ex Loyal Customer

It's time for all PS4 owners to pick up Bloodborne! Let us all reunite over blood!

CA was telling me about this yesterday. I currently have an active XIV account, and have been playing that, plus a little DB Xenoverse, and some DA:I.
Not sure what bloodborne is, but I'll check it.

Bloodborne is the next "Souls" game from developer From Software (Demon's Souls/Dark Souls) and is a PS4 exclusive. It is absolutely the first must have game of the PS4 (exclusive). Btw, DM, I know how much of a fan of horror you are. If you are a fan of the original Alien (1979), I highly recommend Alien: Isolation. It completely plays homage to original film by reuniting the original cast for the first time in 35 years, as well as all sets and sounds from the film. You play as Ripley's daughter, searching for her mother (who is floating in hypersleep ofc). The majority of the game, only one Alien is aboard the ship and it plays as a true survival horror (you can't kill it).

I'm not the biggest fan of the Souls games, but that's mostly because I suck at them, lol.
Question though: Were you guys actually botting? If so, why?

We can all help each other out. I spent a good amount of time as a Sun Bro in each of the Dark Souls games, enjoyed it very much. Oren never got banned, so I'll let Selk tell you why he was himself.

Question though: Were you guys actually botting? If so, why? For months now I'd been botting Job Points/Merit Points all day/overnight. Job Points are essentially new merit point type categories except they can only be earned on the job you are playing and do not transfer over. They are also much more time consuming to complete and to max it out requires a lot of effort and time (a crappy artificial time-sink for the game imho). I was capping each job's job points to earn their specials (ie, Utsusemi: San, Nuke Tier 6, Reraise IV, etc). A lot of players did/do this and there were definitely worse offenders. The common thought was that nothing would happen unless somebody repeatedly called a GM on you and then... still nothing would happen. This was actually proven time and again. Until recently. The ban hammer came down hard on people and they started perm-banning for first time offenses on anything gil-farm-bot related. I wasn't farming money just CP(Job Points)/XP/Merits so I felt relatively safe having no marks on either account. Selk was botting one night in Marjami Ravine with Dasheeit on Auto Assist Bot. Selk was given a 72 hour ban while Dash was left standing there twiddling his thumbs. It should be noted this was my mistake as I had known several JP had been messing with me trying to screw up my XP overnight but I ignored them. I should have moved on to another location at this point (or just stopped for a time) to avoid further GM calls against me, which I'm positive there must have been several. After Selk's banning I (wrongly) assumed that I could continue botting on Dash and have a safe window for one ban since he has no marks on his account. I preceded to continue botting on Dasheeit while Selk just idled in a hallway and leeched free kills. This lasted another 3 or so weeks before I was suddenly perm-banned on both. If they had just given Dasheeit a 72 hour ban, I had planned on completely stopping my afk-botting and I would still be playing today. I had been very altruistic with my botting and allowed any LS mate to join my party and leech at any time. It was always somewhere in the back of my head that some LS mate might be GM calling on me too.... but that was probably just paranoia and it never effected my actions. I'm at least happy that SE ignored those that were leeching and only dropped the hammer on me. Many, many players and friends have been banned these last few months over botting infractions (even with 0 marks on their accounts!) so this wasn't much of a surprise. I had always said after friends started disappearing due to the ban hammer that if they perm-banned me I would accept it and move on. Ya, I walked into it with eyes wide open and don't have any regrets. I only think that SE are being foolish in perm-banning their revenue stream as they have just announced the end of the game (essentially). Additionally, many players are no longer playing as a result of their friend's being banned and choosing not to return. I am part of one of these numbers: www.playonline.com/ff11us/rule/specialtask.htmlC'est la vie tl;dr; Yes I botted. Yes I knew the risks. Yes I got caught. SE is stupid for perm banning so many people when the game is about to end.

Darkmage I see you playing FF Type-0. I haven't had much time to toss into it but I'm really enjoying it. That machina fight (after Odin) destroyed me for 2 rounds before I figured out how to teleport around... then it was super easy... but it was fun figuring that out. Edit: Also, the FFXV demo is pretty lame so far.

I didn't teleport around (also, someone can teleport around?) I just used Ace (I think, the card guy) and ran. There was a faint blue light column (like the SOL strike from Akira) where the hit was going to be, there were about 3-4 of them in a row that followed you with a break just long enough to throw a few cards in between, but yeah, that thing obliterated me a couple of times before I got it down. I haven't had a ton of time to toss into it yet either, but what I've played so far I've liked. On a side note once you get to set your own active/reserves scythe girl is awesome. As far as the XV demo...thing, I don't love it, but I like it enough to give the game a shot. There are a few problems I have with it, like the camera being non-adjustable and far too close, that I hope they'll fix sometime in the interim. There's plans for a gambit system, which should improve some things. Once I picked up the second heirloom (Just north of the NE camp site there's a pride rock looking formation, it's there) and bumped my level a bit (there's a camper thing at the chocobo ranch that gives you 1.5x the xp if you sleep in it, just get a big xp pool then go there) it made things a bit better and more interesting. I haven't done everything yet, I still have to kill the behemoth and run through the cave for Ramuh, but I don't think it's terrible, but it certainly needs some adjustments. I'm going to have to look into Bloodborne and see what it's all about, I mostly game on PC still, but a few good PS4 titles can't hurt. Also, O, have you watched Kill List? It's supposed to be good, like, Martyrs good, I haven't watched it yet, but I saw it mentioned here: www.complex.com/pop-culture/2012/08/the-50-most-disturbing-movies and it caught my attention. I've heard many good things about Alien: Isolation, but haven't checked it out yet. Have you been following any of the Silent Hills stuff? The concept movie was awesome: www.youtube.com/watch?v=gY91vV0rWr4 however, with the current apparent departure of Kojima from Konami, I'm now uncertain as to the direction of the game, which is sad, because so far it's seemed like nothing but fucking awesome.

Ah, that sucks Selk.
When is the game ending? I haven't played in many years, but that still makes me sad. So many memories housed on Lakshmi for me -- sad to think that the world will be offline never to return.

So many memories housed on Lakshmi for me -- sad to think that the world will be offline never to return. By "ending" he means the final expansion pack to ever be released. Also, PS2 and 360 will no longer be supported, but you will now be able to play XI on a mobile device. I watched Kill List a few years ago and thought it was "ok" after reading much of the same hype. I honestly don't remember it much, so maybe I can give it another whirl, perhaps I wasn't in the right mood to watch it at the time. I haven't followed any Silent Hill stuff since all of the info was originally released. You would think Kojima + Del Torro would be amazing, even with Norman Reedus leading. But like you said, it's all under question with Kojima leaving Konami. Disappointed to read they will be continuing Metal Gear without him (V will be the last I ever buy, that's for sure). On a side note: Bloodborne comes out Tuesday, people! Get your copy now!Seriously though, how none of you (other than Xar) have played any Souls games is beyond me. They are the tits, through and through.

Oh, okay! Well that makes me a little less emotional, lol. Known/loved alot of you guys for over a decade now -- even though I don't play, I don't like the thought of our world going offline lol
And holy crap if there are still people playing on PS2.

If you hold target while hitting the dive button in a direction on him he will do a nightcrawler style teleport a few feet. He's really the only one I've played I'll have to check that chic out. I stood around for over 20 minutes fighting a never ending wave of mobs that kept fucking me up. It was good practice for a control system that I think sucks. I agree with your view on the camera too. I have it downloaded just haven't been able to play on PS4 since last week... Also have Borderlands Handsome Collection downloading tongiht (i think)!
