I see that Sith Wyrm is a PVE server. Does that mean the only PVP is in warzones or are there any endgame PVP planets?

yes, on a PvE server warzones are about it for PvP content
There is a planet called Ilum that has a large open-world PvP area thats basically 5 capture and hold points. There were initially daily and weekly quests to kill players of the opposing faction while in the zone.
The game servers have had no faction-balancing since launch.. so a lot of servers are very lopsided; Sith Wyrm is pretty heavy Empire, as are a lot of others (I dont actually think there are any heavy Republic servers..). With the massive out-numbering that went on, most republic players just gave up on even trying to go to Ilum.
The developers eventually changed some mechanics and the quests so the zone would be more about taking the points than killing players. The quests now required you to flip the points to your faction's control.. but with the imbalance, you'd find that if you were on the heavy side, you could never flip, because you already controlled them all. Some players went as far as creating an opposite-faction alt (players can have characters on both sides on the same server) and leveling them just far enough to go to Ilum to flip the points. When Republic characters did show up, you'd see that most people wouldnt attack them, and just allow them to retake the points.. and they'd flip-flop until everyone's quests were complete.
After a little while of this, the developers removed all quests and rewards associated with the zone, and have pretty much gone back to the drawing board with it. Wish I could find the developer blog on this, but one of the leads made a long, apologetic post about the "failure" of Ilum. So for now, warzones are about all there is.
There's another small area on Tatooine thats actually a group free-for-all (anyone not in your party can attack you, same faction or otherwise), but its empty.
Of course, you can turn your PvP flag on no matter where you are, but there really are only about 5 planets that even have mixed-faction quest areas. I'd imagine even on a PvP server, actual world pvp is pretty limited.
That said, the warzones are great. There's only 4, and 3 of them can be same-faction teams on both sides (Empire vs Empire, instead of Empire vs Republic), but the queue system rotates the maps fairly well since the 1.2 Legacy Update (previously, only 1 map was same faction, and came up 90% of the time on lopsided servers) so nothing gets stale anymore.
I uhh.. got a little long winded, sorry 'bout that

Oh cool. I never experienced a faction on faction warzone, but it probably has something to do with only entering warzones on the republic side. That's pretty neat, though. Which one was same faction, huttball?
